Official Opening of AIM Centre Marks New Era in Manufacturing Innovation

On February 16, 2024, a significant event unfolded in the heart of Sligo, marking the official inauguration of the Advancing Innovation in Manufacturing (AIM) Centre by Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Employment, Simon Coveney.

The AIM Centre is poised to revolutionize manufacturing in the North-West of Ireland by offering state-of-the-art facilities and unparalleled support for businesses eager to embrace digitalization and new manufacturing technologies. This initiative not only drives competitiveness but also fosters the creation of high-quality jobs in our community.

In partnership with Sligo County Council and Atlantic Technological University, and with funding from Enterprise Ireland through the Border Regional Enterprise Development Fund (BEDF), established by the Department of Enterprise, Trade, and Employment, and supported by Leitrim County Council, the AIM Centre is set to become a beacon of innovation and collaboration.

With space for up to 80 individuals to co-locate, collaborate, and innovate, the AIM Centre serves as a vibrant hub where creativity converges with technology to tackle real-world challenges head-on.

At AIM, we have assembled a dedicated team of experts, including engineering managers, robotics and automation engineers, program managers, and a network of freelancers, all ready to support companies in optimizing their manufacturing processes and supply chains.

Our approach to innovation focuses not only on acquiring new systems but also on maximizing the potential of existing equipment through the integration of cutting-edge technologies. We emphasize smarter utilization of current assets through connectivity and modern tech solutions, ensuring operational excellence and minimizing the risk of human error.

Join us at the AIM Centre as we embark on this exciting journey towards a future where innovation thrives, manufacturing excels, and our community flourishes. Together, let's shape the future of manufacturing in Sligo and beyond!
